Fire safety dual pitched rooflights of any length
Dual pitched rooflights – reliable fire safety glass for flat roofs in accordance with EU-Norm EN 13501-1
GLASOLUX fire safety dual pitched rooflights are fire-retardant and fire-resistant rooflights for flat roofs with a pitch of between 10° and 60°. They can be found on industrial buildings as well as on flat roofs of residential buildings.
Their modular design allows skylights spanning up to 4060 mm in width and unlimited length, with each individual module spanning up to 1100 mm with a max. height of 2090 mm.
Fire resistance classes EI 30 (F 30) and EI 90 (F 90)
Depending on the safety category, GLASOLUX uses EI 30 or EI 90 fire resistance class glass. Fire-retardant EI 30 fire safety glass can withstand heat and fire for 30 minutes before it breaks, while fire-resistant EI 90 glass can last for up to 90 minutes. Fire safety glass always has to have fixed glazing, so none of the modules can be opened.
Materials
The fire safety glazing systems used by GLASOLUX are thermally separated steel profile tube structures which, in combination with Pilkington fire protection insulating glass, comply with the required fire resistance classes. The insulating glass consists of laminated safety glass with intermediate fire protection layers, a splinter-binding film (on the interior) and an ESG outer pane. Foaming fire protection layers absorb the energy from the fire for the required period of time. In case of fire, the thermally insulating block of glass and foam prevents the surface temperature from rising by more than 140 K (on average) above the initial temperature within the desired fire resistance class (standard fire tests according to DIN 4102 or European standard EN 1363). The fire safety glass is covered by a 10-year guarantee.
Fire safety glazing must be surrounded by adjoining structural elements in the same fire resistance class, or higher, which are usually provided by the customer. If required, GLASOLUX can also offer substructures with the appropriate fire resistance class to go with the glazing.

Glazing
- High quality EI 30, EI 60 and EI 90 fire safety glass in accordance with European standard EN 1363
- The glazing frame consists of a screwed mullion-transom construction with tested and officially approved clamp connections, glass supports, T- and corner connectors.
Frame profiles
- The frame profiles are thermally separated by a moulded PUR core
- and are available with a natural anodised or powder-coated surface, e.g. RAL 9010 (pure white) or in other RAL Classic colours for an additional charge.
- Two-tone profiles, e.g. grey on the outside and white on the inside, are also available for an additional charge.
Certification
Our fire safety monopitch rooflights are certified and officially approved according to DIN EN 1363.Warranty
The fire safety glass is covered by a 10-year guarantee. In addition to the dual pitched rooflight design, GLASOLUX fire safety glazing is also available in monopitch rooflight design or as a fire safety skylight as well as in combination with walk-on glass, as a flat walk-on fire safety skylight.
